Textron Systems has received a task order from the US Naval Air Systems Command to provide sea-based ISR services, the company announced on 4 October.

The task order is part of the Close Range UAS ISR Services IDIQ contract awarded in June 2017.

The contract will see Textron provide contractor-owned, contractor-operated services with its Aerosonde UASfrom an Expeditionary Sea Base class vessel.

Aerosonde is equipped for day-and-night full-motion video, communications relay and intelligence in a single flight. Designed for expeditionary land- and sea-based operations, the UAS delivers reliable, multi-mission performance that can be acquired as a system or a service.

The Aerosonde platform uses a single turntable for launch and recovery, offering a roll-on, roll-off capability with a small footprint, and no structural shipboard modifications required.

This is a demonstration shop for test - no order will be honored. Dismiss
