Sentient Vision Systems has joined General Atomics Aeronautical Systems’ (GA-ASI’s) Team Reaper Australia in its bid for Australia’s Project AIR 7003, the company announced on 3 September.

The Royal Australian Air Force’s Project AIR 7003 seeks an armed, medium-altitude, long-endurance UAS that will be fully-interoperable with Australia’s allies.

Led by GA-ASI, Team Reaper Australia now includes Cobham, CAE Australia, Raytheon, Flight Data Systems, TAE Aerospace, Rockwell Collins, Ultra Electronics Australia, Airspeed, Quickstep Holdings and Sentient Vision Systems.

Simon Olsen, director of business development, strategy and partnerships, Sentient Vision Systems, said: ‘From our foundations of the Defence Science and Technology Group’s Capability and Technology Demonstrator programme, to our proud history of deployments in support of the Australian warfighter, Sentient sees the inclusion of our ViDAR wide area motion imagery payload as a part of Team Reaper Australia in support of the Air 7003 requirement as a reinforcement of Australian leadership in advanced autonomy.’
