FLIR Systems has acquired Canada-based Aeryon Labs, a developer of advanced UAS for the military, public safety and critical infrastructure markets, the company announced on 28 January.

Aeryon Labs has now become part of the FLIR Government and Defense Business Unit’s Unmanned Systems and Integrated Solutions division.

Aeryon Labs designs and manufactures Group 1 UAS. The company develops UAS solutions that include hardware, embedded software, ground control stations, sensors, software for flight operations, as well as supporting services for its global customers. Aeryon’s VTOL quad-copter airframes integrate multiple sensors, including FLIR thermal technology, to provide operators with high-resolution ISR capabilities.
