Alion Science and Technology will support the US Navy’s Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Family of Systems (FoS) under a new contract announced on 17 October.
The work will see Alion develop, build and support current and future systems and subsystems required to support the advancement of the navy’s UUV FoS.
The company will design, develop, fabricate, test, install, document and deliver rapid prototype material solutions associated with the products, systems, subsystems, ancillary and peculiar support equipment, and the development of navy UUVs.
Current and future UUV FoS are designed for a number of roles, including search, detection and classification, weapon targeting and placement, undersea warfare training, countermeasures, communications, mapping, intelligence collection, component integration, servicing and recovery, special warfare support and surveillance.
The multiple award IDIQ contract is worth up to $794 million.
